The Redesigned 2014 Sequoia—What We Know So Far

At Suburban Toyota of Troy, we know how you feel. We are waiting for the 2014 Sequoia as impatiently as you are. But, we can give you a sneak peek into the redesigned Sequoia, at least what we can tell you so far. Whet your appetite here.

Tough, Rugged Good-Looks

The big guys at Toyota have shared a few insider details about the popular large sized SUV with your friends at Suburban Toyota, and our dealership is all a twitter about what we’ve heard. One thing that will not change is the tough looking exterior that we all love. Toyota products, particularly the large SUVs and trucks, have a really bold and robust exterior design and that is absolutely sacred. While some things will be tweaked, that tough looking Toyota style and exciting design will remain, along with its superior off-road capabilities.

Exterior Features

The 2014 Sequoia will, thankfully, still look a lot like the preceding year’s model. The rugged wipers, sturdy roof rack, A-pillars, and aerodynamically designed mirrors stay right where they are. However, the grille and brand logo have increased in dimension to meet the beefy proportions of the vehicle. The headlamps snug up and attach at the grille frame’s edges.

Interior Features

The interior, which seats eight, of the 2014 Sequoia is redesigned to spoil you rotten. The interior cabin space seems, and is, roomier and even more luxurious, with all the bells and whistles – many of them standard. The seats will be adjustable to allow for more or less space as needed. Two wireless headphones come with the new model, along with a 9-inch LCD screen, touch screen DVD, navigation, Laser Cruise Control, and an incredible Blu-ray entertainment system. Have you seen that before? We haven’t!

The Heart of the 2014 Sequoia

The heart and soul of all Toyotas are the powerful engines. In the new Sequoia, you’ll find a hefty 5.7-liter V8 under the hood. That’s an upgrade, friends. The engine will have dual-independent VVT-I for fine tuned timing, optimized performance and fuel economy. With the Acoustic Control Induction System in place, the torque curve will be optimized for an improved towing capacity, too. The transmission will be a six-speed automatic that pairs well with the beefy engine improvement.

2014 Toyota Venza Boasts Style Cabin Space Improvements

If you’re searching for a mid-size crossover sedan that combines power and creature comforts with an aesthetically appealing appearance, look no further than the 2014 Toyota Venza. With room to comfortably seat five passengers, the Venza—which will soon be available at Suburban Toyota Scion of Troy—is a modern twist on the traditional station wagon and offers the perfect blend of fashion and function.

All-wheel or four-wheel drive

2013 Toyota Venza

The Toyota Venza has undergone a series of changes and received numerous improvements since it was initially introduced in 2009, and the past year is no exception. Drivers in the market for a 2014 model can choose from three trim levels—the LE, XLE and Limited—all of which are available as all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive vehicles.

Engine options include a 3.5-liter V6 engine capable of producing 268 horsepower and 246 lb.-ft. of torque, as well as a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that can deliver 182 horsepower and 182 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2014 Venza has earned a fuel efficiency rating of 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

Styling and new colors

Perhaps the most notable changes to the revamped 2014 Toyota Venza have been made to the vehicle’s exterior, which will be available in at least two new colors: Cypress Gem and Cosmic Black Mica. A redesigned grille and fog lights, along with a new front fascia, 19-inch alloy wheels and restyled taillights mark some of the biggest differences between the exterior of latest model of the Toyota Venza and its predecessor.

More cargo space

2013 Toyota Venza Cabin Space

The interior of the Venza has also undergone several changes that drivers and passengers alike will benefit from. The spacious cabin with room for five people now boasts even more cargo space behind a second row of seating, thanks to a rear seat that reclines up to 14 degrees, and thanks to the vehicle’s 60/40 split rear seats that fold flat to accommodate large or lengthy items.

Whether you’re ready to purchase a 2014 Toyota Venza and drive it directly off the lot or you simply want to take one for a test drive and discover all of the vehicle’s new features up close and personal, our staff at Suburban Toyota Scion of Troy is available to answer all of your questions and assist you with all your car-buying needs.

Tradition and heritage

The Toyota 4-Runner tradition is that of an off-road, tough, rugged truck. This newest model is no exception. The fearless heritage built in to the genes of the 4-Runner laughs in the face of slick pavement, tempestuous weather changes, rocky roads and icy cold. This, the fifth-generation 4-Runner is five times as robust and hearty as those 4-wheeled pretenders. This truck can handle the bumps along the way with incredible off road performance and stunning new interior refinements you will love.

The 4.0 V6 and fuel economy can coexist

The 2014 4-Runner’s 4.0 V6 harkens back to the powerful 4-wheel trucks of old. Thanks to the 270 horsepower engine pulling 278 lb./ft. of torque combined with the optimization of Toyota’s Dual Independent Variable Valve Timing with intelligence, that already impressive torque is even more jaw dropping-and surprisingly economical.

Off-road and around town

Toyota’s 4-Runner boasts a silky smooth suspension that responds like a race car but also Sherpas you through the peaks and valleys with a the grip of a vice. Whatever grade you get from Limited to Trail, you’ll always get the best of both worlds. Depending upon what model you choose, you’ll enjoy features like CRAWL, regulated engine speed and Multi-Terrain wheel-slip and spin control when needed. The Hill-start Assist and Downhill Assist, which come standard, allow you to micromanage your 4-Runners hilling. Like to ski? Try the Mogul setting and tackle V-ditches, slopes, or ridges on the ascent or decent.

Safety first

Toyota never forgets safety, and the 4-Runner has it all. Star Safety System with Vehicle Stability Control, traction control, and Anti-lock brakes keep you upright and on the road no matter what. Auto Limited Slip Differential provides unparalleled traction on the slickest of roads. Electronic Brake-force Distribution with Brake Assist endures you’ll stop on a dime no matter what you are hauling.

It is high tech too

Just so you know, you’re not missing out on any of the bells and whistles with the rugged 4-Runner. Tucked away neatly inside is everything you need to stay connected and jam to your favorite tunes.

2014 Toyota Highlander

2014 HighlanderThe Toyota Highlander has been completely redesigned for the 2014 model year. Everything has been updated from the fantastic curves on the outside, to the spacious interior. Not one stone was left unturned, and you will like what you see.

The cultured exterior lines of the Next Generation Toyota Highlander are meant for a night out on the town, but they’re also rugged enough to carry you through the roughest terrain. You’ll definitely want to take advantage of the available 4WD to help cope with the long, white winters we get here in Troy.

Perhaps the biggest changes come with the interior. Once again, everything is updated. In addition to the normal trunk space, both the second- and third-row seats fold down, creating enough room to put just about anything. What’s more, passenger capacity has been upped from seven to eight passengers due to the widening of the third row. All seats fold and even recline independently of each other. This allows for the maximum amount of comfort for all passengers. The inclusion of an under-dashboard shelf makes it easy to charge and stow your cell phone, your sunglasses or anything else that you may want safely secured.

Engine options remain unchanged for the Next Generation Highlander. If something works well, why change it? The 2.4-liter four-cylinder and the 3.5-liter six-cylinder work flawlessly with the Highlander. To improve upon the already excellent fuel economy, a brand new six-speed auto transmission will be mated to the six-cylinder.

If you are concerned about the environment and miles per gallon but still want the capability of an SUV, you could always opt for the Highlander Hybrid. The Highlander Hybrid offers excellent fuel consumption at 28 mpg through the city, and 28 on the highway. Whatever option you choose, you really cannot go wrong with the Next Generation 2014 Toyota Highlander.

Suburban Toyota 2013 Corolla Furia

Toyota Corolla Furia 2013

Are you attracted to the Toyota Corolla’s reputation for reliability, but wish for something a little more stylish to drive?

Wish no more. At the 2013 North American International Auto Show in January, 2013, Toyota unveiled a tantalizing glimpse of the future Corolla Furia, a next-generation Corolla with amped-up bodywork and a new, edgier aesthetic.

It’s pretty, it’s practical, and it’s coming to the Suburban Toyota in Troy as soon as Toyota starts rolling them out.

Toyota Corolla Furia DetroitAlthough the Furia is just a concept right now, Toyota has turned mere dreams into larger-than-life realities on more than one occasion. The specs so far are: 181.9 inches long, 72 inches wide, 56.1 inches high, wheelbase of 106.3 inches, making it larger than existing Corollas.

The new Furia reflects the company’s drive to produce dependable, long-lasting vehicles that are just a little flashier and will catch the eye of passersby, whether they’re cruising on the highway or parked at the curb.

Although the exterior design is based on very simple elements and clean lines, collectively they form a daring and distinct whole.

New design elements include:

  • 19-inch alloy wheels positioned right at the vehicle’s corners, rather than a short distance inward, giving the vehicle a stance that’s more stable, sportier and more modern. The short overhangs that highlight the long wheelbase will be sure to make a few eyes pop.
  • A swept windshield reminiscent of a race car, contributing to the feeling of motion even while the vehicle is stationary. A sloped roof line adds to this impression.
  • Provocative fender flares and a front fascia with a blacked-out grill emphasize the headlamps for a sharp feeling of contrast.
  • Advanced technological elements, including sculpted front LED headlamps and rear composite LED taillight assemblies, appeal to younger drivers who love their gadgets.
  • Carbon fiber accents around the wheel wells, rocker panels, and a rear valence with elaborate metal exhaust outlets add to this car’s detailed style.

This is a car that will endear itself to Corolla fans as well as those who like a little bit of glamor with their ride.
